The main groups of animals in Farmville are Livestock and Lost Animals. You can purchase Livestock at the Market for coins orFarmville cash while Lost Animals will show up on your farm once in a while. One advantage of animal crops is that they do not rot like plant ones. You can be logged off as long as you like and when you come back, the animals will be waiting to be harvested. Animals are unproblematic and effortless to handle. It is a great method of getting money whilst enjoying some assortment on your farm.
Livestock
The livestock you can currently purchase at the Market are rather limited. At present there are dairy cows, pigs, and white (regular) sheep. Pigs, dairy cows and the regular white sheep are the only animals which can be obtained at the Market. During special occasions and holidays, new animals will appear for a limited time. During the “Alien Invasion”, green cows named BOV1NE-09 ( now named Alien Cow) appeared in the Market for 2400 coins. “Milktonium,” a crop which can be harvested from green cows can be sold for 18 coins. American Thanksgiving led to the release of the “Baby Turkey”- when harvested for the first time, it will convert into grown Turkey. The feathers which can be harvested every 2 days from full-grown Turkey can be put up for sale at 80 coins a harvest. You can accept additional interesting livestock as free gifts from your friends, although the old standbys are offered there too.
You will notice that that the harvest times for each animal are not the same. Some animals “ripen” and can be harvested everyday while others need as many as four days.
Lost Animals
Status updates of your friends may display that they have came across a lost animal on Farmville. These lost animals will once in a while show up on your farm and request your help. For instance, to commemorate American Thanksgiving, the makers of Farmville introduced a new “lost animal”– the Wild Turkey.
She will appear on your farm with the following caption:
(Your name) discovered this frightened bird in Farmville. This time of year is tough for her and her kind. Hopefully she can find comfort and safety on a friendly farm. ..
Other lost animals include:
*Ugly Duckling ( becomes a swan)
*Brown Cow ( makes chocolate milk)
*Pink Cow ( produces strawberry milk)
*Black Cat ( makes yarn)
*Turtle ( makes eggs)
*Black Sheep ( makes chocolate wool)
* Regular cows may appear on your farm as a lost animal. They are available through the Market and can be given as a free item by your neighbors too.
You cannot adopt these lost animals. You can only help them by putting them up for adoption. If you have more than one Facebook account, this is the ideal moment to use it!
Place your animal up for adoption, then log out. Log in on your other account and immediately adopt the lost animal or your friends might adopt it before you do! Regularly check your friends’ status updates so that you can adopt their lost animal.
If you’re collecting a large number of cows and/or chickens, think about purchasing a Dairy Barn or a Chicken Coop.
These buildings offer a convenient way to keep the animals, and harvesting them all at once. A Dairy Barn or a Chicken Coop has a space for 20 cows or chickens.
