Reviewing Kids Games Online

What We Did on Our Summer Vacation…
In the quest to drive away summer boredom, DD and I are reviewing kids games online by trying them out and posting our findings here. DD is my six-year old daughter, and she will be in first grade in the beginning of the school year in August.

After browsing Google listings for “play free online games for kids,” we chose the Fisher-Price site to visit. I am surprised at ourselves that we have not been there before, considering how many of their products we have in our house.

You can choose infant, toddler or preschool level games. We chose preschool level. This took us to a page with icons for about forty or so games, coloring pages and wallpapers. Attracted to a Barbie-like face, first she tried the Sweet Streets Beauty Salon makeover activity and had no trouble figuring out how to do it all by herself. Then she tried the dinosaur Imaginext activity (it said wallpapers on the icon)… and played the puzzles and memory games. She went back to Sweet Streets and we discovered a link that took us to even more games and activities. There was a Sundae Driver maze or race game where she controlled a little car through a maze with the keyboard arrow keys. The games on the Fisher Price site were comparably simple and fast loading games and web pages for a games website… good for children’s short attention spans. While DD may have been a little old for some of the games, because at age 6 she is no longer a preschooler, she was happy to be able to navigate the site and figure out the games for herself.
